Lynton Parish Church |
Today
the Parish Church of Lynton is a much larger edifice than the original
site of Christian witness in the village. Dedicated to St. Mary the
Virgin, the church has been altered and added to on so many occasions that
hardly anything of the original building remains. The oldest part of the
entire structure is the Tower, which is mainly l3th Century and in some
parts four feet thick.
The Parish of Lynton with Barbrook is partnered with seven other Parishes and forms part of the North Devon Coast Team Ministry within the Diocese of Exeter. |
Although a wonderfully historic site and one of the oldest in the village, the Church is a living body of people who daily seek to tell of the good news of Jesus Christ. Why not visit and share with us all the wonder and beauty of God in todays world. We are fortunate in being able to keep our church open daily throughout the year to provide an opportunity for visitors to come and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful house of God.
