Exmoor & Its Wild Life

Lynton and Lynmouth is the largest community and the walking capital Exmoor situated right at the centre and on the North coast. It is better known as England’s little Switzerland where Exmoor meets the sea. This fantastic walking country where you can meander along one of the river walks, or maybe, for the more serious walker why not try one of the many longer circulars. There are many organized walks and for details on these contact one of the tourist information centres when you arrive.

Exmoor is famous for it’s Red Deer, which has the largest concentration in England. The Exmoor Pony on the other hand are less prevalent and at least two of the eight herd’s on Exmoor are managed by the Exmoor National park Authority which will ensure the future of the Exmoor Ponies.

You can find wildlife on tap wherever you look so why not come and enjoy the smallest and least visited National Park in the country and be mesmerised by its romantic charm as this is one of only three areas in the UK classified as “tranquil”.
