North Devon Spinners meet at Berrynarbor Manor Hall on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in the month from 10.00am till 4.00pm

Subscriptions £5.00 per annum plus 40p per meeting to cover the light refreshments.

Our meetings are informal with help and advice given to beginners and we have a spinning wheel available for people to have a go on.  We also hold occasional workshops and make visits to different venues and events.

A number of our members keep sheep including coloured ones and some also weave the wool they spin. We have a small library and try to keep up to date with new ideas and designs.  Young and old, you are welcome to come and see what we are doing.

Update March 2004

A.G.M. 24th. February 2004.

Secretary’s Report.

I am pleased to report that we enrolled some new members in 2003.

In March  we visited the Willows and Wetlands Centre, Stoke Gregory, Somerset. We had a very interesting day, and were lucky with the weather.

In June we had our annual dyeing day in Kathy’s lovely garden. Thank you Kathy for making us so welcome. Again, the weather was kind to us as we watched the wonderful colours in the wool appear from the various boiling pots of natural dyestuffs.

The Devon Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers held their biennial exhibition at Killerton House in September. Thanks to Monica for arranging a coach to take us to see all the wonderful items made by Guild members. We were all inspired.

In December we had a Christmas lunch at the Globe and then watched Kathy’s slides of her trip to the Falklands. This was followed by tea and cakes provided by the members of the group.

The library books are now kept in a cupboard in the Manor Hall.

We have for loan to members for three months the following----

INKLE LOOM, CARDERS, CORD WINDER, SPINNING WHEEL.

We now meet from 10am until 4pm and have lunch at the Globe. Anyone wishing to can bring a packed lunch .

Thanks to everyone who made our meetings so successful and welcome to our new Secretary, Pam Brown.
