Lynton Town Hall is licensed as a venue for civil weddings and is managed by Lynton & Lynmouth Town Council, an accredited Quality Council.

Lynton Town Hall was built and given to the community by Sir George Newnes on August 15th 1900. Designed by Read & Macdonald of London this superb Grade II listed building is a unique mixture of manorial, Gothic and Tudor styles.
Constructed of local stone and oak by a local builder, the structure retains its unusual originality both outside and within.
When it opened Newnes wished that the hall would be… “a source of instruction and recreative pleasure, not only to the present inhabitants but to future generations”. These sentiments have been honoured by the local community ever since.

The building offers various function rooms:

Jubilee Room – This room is used by local organisations to hold meetings and functions on a weekly basis (for weddings please go to wedding link). There are tea and coffee making facilities and the room can hold approximately 40 people. It is available for hire on an hourly or daily basis. (Any combination of sessions which run from 9am to 1pm; 1pm to 6pm; 6pm to midnight)

A reduction of 25% is available to local organisations who hire the room on two or more occasions in a calendar month.

This room is used regularly by the Senior Citizens and Exmoor National Park Planning Surgery.

Council Chamber - This is a more formal room and is used mainly for meetings (for weddings please go to wedding link). This is a lovely room with oak panelling and fireplace. No food or drink is allowed in this room and hire charges are the same as for the Jubilee Room.

Main Hall – The main hall has underfloor central heating and is a spectacular room with panelled walls and high ceiling. It can hold approximately 150 people and there is a fully equipped kitchen available for hire. Many events are held in this room including children’s plays, the annual pantomime, Dances, private parties etc (for weddings please go to wedding link).
